National Automotive Market Increases, Daihatsu Sales for April 2022 Record Highest Results

Until April 2022, the National automotive market recorded retail sales of around 320 thousand units, or an increase of 24 percent compared to the same period in 2021. That is around 257,000 units.

Meanwhile, on a monthly basis, the automotive market experienced a slight correction in April 2022 to around 81 thousand units, or down about 9 percent compared to last year.

"Daihatsu is grateful to be able to maintain the number 2 position in national automotive sales until April 2022," said Hendrayadi Lastiyoso, Marketing & Customer Relations Division Head of PT Astra International Daihatsu Sales Operation (AI-DSO), in an official release.

"Hopefully the automotive market this year is better than the previous year, and customers can also buy Daihatsu cars at the right time like today," he continued.

The end of PPnBM DTP in April 2022 also has an impact on the Indonesian automotive market.

It was recorded that in March 2022 sales reached around 89 thousand units.

In terms of brand sales, Daihatsu still maintains the number two position in national automotive sales with retail sales up to April 2022 of more than 62 thousand units, or up 41.8 percent compared to year to date or YTD April 2021.

Meanwhile, in terms of market share, Daihatsu also experienced an increase of 2.4 percent to 19.5 percent in YTD April 2022 compared to the same period in April 2021 of 17.1 percent, and became the highest increase in market share among other brands in this period.

In terms of monthly sales, the LCGC (Low Cost Green Car) segment, which is still supported by the PPnBM DTP LCGC discount, has a very positive impact on Daihatsu. It was recorded that in April 2022, Daihatsu's total LCGC sales (including Daihatsu Ayla and Daihatsu Sigra) reached 5,428 units, or an increase of 13 percent compared to March 2022 of 4,811 units.

Meanwhile, in the macroeconomic situation, there are four current issues that can affect the price of a product, including vehicles. That is:
