BMW Group Indonesia announced its sales achievements in 2021, where the company that houses the BMW and MINI brands experienced sales growth of 21 percent. Over the past year, the BMW Group sold 3,102 vehicles, consisting of 2,433 BMWs and 669 MINIs.

According to the President Director of BMW Group Indonesia, Ramesh Divyanathan, the sales achievement of the BMW Group last year has succeeded in becoming BMW as the leader of the premium vehicle segment in the country. This nick is also inseparable from the launch of 28 new BMW and MINI models throughout 2021.

"BMW is leading the competition in Indonesia's premium vehicle segment and outperforms all its competitors. This shows that our strategic approach, which prioritizes customers and strives to provide comfortable hybrid services and a wide variety of models, is bearing fruit," said Ramesh in a press release received. Tempo today, Monday, January 17, 2022.

Continuing last year's success, Ramesh said that this year the BMW Group will launch a new electric car from the BMW and MINI brands. The presence of this new car is expected to increase sales of the BMW Group this year.

"This year, BMW Indonesia will launch not one but three innovative flagship electric vehicles. The launch of these models and the overall focus on BMW i emphasizes the fact that 2022 is the year of E-Mobility," said Ramesh.

The three electric cars that will be launched this year are the BMW i4, BMW iX, and MINI Electric. Reportedly, the MINI Electric will be released in the first quarter of 2022, but for the two BMW electric cars the release date is not yet known.

Electrification is not something for BMW in Indonesia. This German car manufacturer started its work in the electric car market in the country since 2014. Currently, there are several BMW electric cars marketed in Indonesia, including the BMW i3s, X5 Plug-in Hybrid, and up to the BMW i8.
